China Leads the Way in Green Policies

China is considered the worst polluter in the world, but a recent report by the UN’s renewable energy advisory body, REN21, has shown that the country is actually the biggest investor in renewable energy.
Last year, China made US$91.2 billion dollars in renewable investments, which is about a third of the whole world’s renewable investment. The United States spent US$48.5 billion and Europe invested around US$61.2 billion.
What’s more, China is top of the world when it comes to producing and selling electric vehicles. The country is also cutting coal power and promoting renewables, while cities like Shanghai are limiting the use of single-use plastics.
