Do Fruits and Vegetables Have Genders?
Posted on 25 November 2019
Have you ever wondered whether fruits and vegetables have genders, just like humans? Research shows that they don’t!
Each fruit and vegetable is simply a result of the male and female parts of plants interacting with each other. The plant’s pollen is the ‘male’ part, while the ovary is the ‘female’ part. The two parts meet through pollination, which eventually causes a fruit or vegetable to form.
There are a few ideas flying around that fruits and vegetables have genders according to how they look, but there’s really no truth to them!
