Living on the Moon

NASA is planning to take its Moon landings one step further by setting up bases for astronauts so they can live on the Moon’s surface and conduct research during their mission.
To test how these bases would operate, NASA created a small underwater capsule and sent it nearly 19 metres below the ocean’s surface. A team of astronauts, researchers and technicians lived in the capsule for nine days, looking at how a similar capsule would work on the moon.
The experiment examined how astronauts could work together in such a small space, as well as the physical effects of living in such an environment. They also looked at how to make quick decisions in a high-stress situation and tested various equipment.
