Scientists Discover Another Liveable Planet
Posted on 7 July 2020
While Earth is the only planet in this solar system to host life, scientists think they may have discovered a new planet in a nearby solar system that may also be habitable.
Named KOI-456.04, the new planet is said to be the most similar one to Earth that has ever been discovered. It is only 1.9 times bigger than Earth, indicating that it may have a similar atmosphere. Most other planets that have been discovered are quite a lot larger than Earth, which shows that they’re likely too different to accommodate life.
The new planet also orbits a star, much like Earth orbits the sun, and the distance between the planet and its star is close to that of Earth’s distance to the sun.
