Posted on 11 November 2019
When visiting Japan’s capital, Tokyo, it's not surprising to learn that it was named the best big city in the world in 2019.
As part of Condé Nast Traveler’s annual Reader’s Choice Survey, the busy metropolis came first in the Best Big Cities category. The survey asked readers to name their top travel destinations, and this year attracted a record 600,000 voters. Tokyo was a reader favourite thanks to its fantastic food scene, its mix of modern and traditional architecture, and its culture and fashion.
Here is a list of the remaining nine cities which made the top ten;
• Kyoto (Japan)
• Singapore (Republic of Singapore)
• Vienna (Austria)
• Osaka (Japan)
• Copenhagen (Denmark)
• Amsterdam (Netherlands)
• Barcelona (Spain)
• Taipei (Taiwan)
• Sydney (Australia)
